Vata, Pitta, Kapha in a Team
Alone, we go faster; together, we go further, provided we know how to work with what each person brings that is different. What does each profile bring to a team, and how can it be made to work well together?
Vata, drawing on its qualities, brings the profile of the innovator: an open, enthusiastic, and creative mind, an ease at giving birth to new ideas, at opening up space, at setting things in motion through its enthusiasm and curiosity.
Pitta loves action: these are the people able to turn ideas into reality, because they take charge of things, create the schedule, plan the path to make sure the goal is truly reached. We need this strong will, but also this agility that is characteristic of Pitta, to succeed. Vata's enthusiasm and creativity thus give rise to a genuine collective creation.
Kapha also brings many talents and qualities needed to carry out projects within a community: a capacity for endurance, to overcome obstacles and hold the course when others are already tired, thanks to this reserve of energy that is characteristic of Kapha. Throughout the path, Kapha is also the most patient in the face of obstacles and difficulties: it does not easily lose its temper, stays kind and smiling, takes care of others when they are demotivated, tired, or simply in a bad mood. It is there, constantly, like a stabilizing factor for the whole team. Kapha does, however, need more than the others to be stimulated and roused: its slowness, often misunderstood, is also what allows a team to truly digest what it is building, rather than rushing from one idea to the next.
Each dosha is thus necessary to create a team with different but complementary qualities, one that works well together and enriches itself in the process. This complementarity is not limited to work: it rests on a broader principle, that of interdependence, which the next article brings into the light.
